End of Lease Options

As you get closer to the end of your lease, it’s important to understand your options so you can choose the one that’s best for you.

Option 1 - Return Your Vehicle

If you choose to return your leased vehicle here are some things to know:

Pre-Inspection

About 30 to 45 days before your lease maturity date, call us and we will help you schedule a courtesy pre-inspection of your leased vehicle with a MotoLease authorized dealer. Have the inspection done well in advance of returning your vehicle so you have time to take care of any needed repairs. You will be responsible for any outstanding payments, and any other outstanding obligations specified in your lease agreement. You will receive a Vehicle Inspection Report following the inspection.

If you choose to make repairs to your vehicle, contact MotoLease before returning the vehicle. MotoLease will verify the repairs and apply any appropriate credits to your final end-of-lease bill.

Returning your leased vehicle

Before your lease's scheduled maturity end date, contact MotoLease at 877-234-6681 to make arrangements for the return.

At the appointed time:

Deliver your vehicle in clean condition to the MotoLease authorized dealer. Please bring the following items with you:

  • All keys to the vehicle
  • Owner's Manual and maintenance records
  • Vehicle Return Receipt & Odometer Disclosure Statement
  • Vehicle Inspection Report

Receipts for completed repairs

After you turn in your vehicle:

Contact a Customer Service Representative at 1-877-234-6681 to inform MotoLease that you have returned your vehicle.

If all payments have been made, your call will initiate the completion process for your lease account.

If you have payments remaining on your account, you are responsible for making them. Any end-of-term liabilities will be billed at a later time.

Option 2 - Return Your Vehicle and MotoLease Another Vehicle

If you have chosen to return your vehicle to a MotoLease authorized dealer and motolease another vehicle, there will be a payoff request submitted by the dealer to receive a complete payoff including all account credits. This option will not generate a refund of an overpayment as all credits will be to include in the new contract agreement OR an end of term bill for wear and use or disposition fees.

Loyal customers* who motolease their next vehicle may qualify for a $500 Excessive Wear and Use Waiver.

*A loyal customer is one who  leases another vehicle within 30 days prior to or at the turn-in date.

Option 3 - Purchase Your Leased Vehicle

If you decide to purchase your vehicle, there is no need to have it inspected. Just follow these easy steps.

Step 1

Obtain a Payoff Quote: You can get a payoff quote by calling our Motolease Support Department at 1-877-644-2234.

When calling for your payoff information, you may request a written confirmation of your payoff quote by mail, along with instructions and required documentation.

Step 2

Contact us to notify of your intent to purchase.

Step 3

Provide the full payoff amount (including state sales tax, if any) to the address below. If there is no outstanding balance on your account, the title will be mailed upon verification of final payment clearance. It is important to verify MotoLease has your current address on file to ensure you receive your title.

Because federal law requires that you disclose the mileage in connection with the transfer of ownership, you must submit a signed and dated Odometer Disclosure Statement.

Make your check payable to MotoLease LLC and mail with Odometer Disclosure Statement to:

Motolease, LLC

10866 Wislhire Blvd. Ste.565

Los Angeles CA 90024

If you choose to provide your final payment information over the phone, you may fax the Odometer Disclosure Statement to 1-310-441-4090.

Step 4

Re-register your vehicle: State law requires that you transfer the title and vehicle registration into your own name and pay any applicable sales tax and/or fees. This can be completed at your local Department of Motor Vehicles.

End-of-Term Billing

Based on the terms of your lease contract, your lease-end bill may include charges for outstanding payments, taxes, excess wear and use. There may also be a disposition fee. Please review your contract carefully so you'll know what charges you may be billed for at the end of your lease.
